reminds me of Pokey Lafarge & the South City Three check them out if you haven't, they got the 20s jazz rhythm's goin on.

I was thinking something really from 1800-1939.

I find out that I was looking for Gypsy  jazz guitar and just gypsy guitar.

You'll be out of luck trying  to use power chords, this style of playing uses more complex chords..with plenty of 7ths, Maj7ths 9ths, diminished etc.,and a power chord isn't technically a "proper" chord,as it doesn't even have 3rd in it. There are some cool triad chords you can use for jazzy stuff..but they wont be power chords.

I know that power chords are not jazz chords. I just like to make something different with power chords.

I can't use distortion or overdrive with full chords. Triad chords are something like power chords.

I don't wanna play real deep gypsy jazz. More like The Two Man Gentlemen Band.

The big problem with power chords is that they only have root and a 5th..they are great for rootsy raw stuff, but for what you are after, the subtlely of the sound lies in the chord voicings..and a p

Love Two Man Gent Band. There's a lot of tenor banjo/guitar going on with them.

Check out the Dirt Daubers stuff for some old standards simplified down to an old timey style. Search youtube as they're recorded catalog isn't very large.
