 Thank you Uncle John! I wasn't going to use the Red Oak for a neck, but the stuff is gorgeous! Thought I'd do an experiment. So right now, it's possibly either a chugger or a destructive testing rig of a chugger. (Oops, aerospace speak came out) We'll see if it holds up to light strings...

 I use wall-wart wire. Usually .004-008 gets me 300-800 or so winds. bought a little 36, 42 and 43 from Remington that I haven't tried yet. The pickups aren't very loud without a buffer or boost of some sort but they seem cleeeeeaaan with pure tone.
