I have a two-disc piezo pick up to install in a tin. I've bored the hole in the side of the tin and got the jack outward pointing and in place but what do I do with the discs? What's the best way to attach them to the lid of the tin? Sellotape? PVA glue? Any other method and I'm going to have to buy something to do it with. Would sellotape or PVA glue work? Which side of the piezo gets stuck to the tin lid? Is it bronze side down (directly on the lid with the white and bronze side visible inside the lid) or the other way around? This is my first dance so I'm totally confused lol. Excited to be amped up soon but still confused!
Thanks in advance.

It just standard silicone sealant used around baths and sinks, I use clear. If you have an Alltools near by they are cheap, otherwise B&Q or Wicks

Thanks for the reply, David, and for the link too. I managed to find some this morning. In Poundland, of all places! I do love things for a pound. As the American saying from some famous comedian goes, "I'd buy THAT for a dollar!' lol Thanks again. I'll post a sound recording of it once everything's assembled :)
I almost forgot to report back with how the piezo sticking went! Well it went really quite well, if I do say so myself. Here's a couple of photomagraphs:
I used this stuff in the end.
I found it, of all places, in the pound shop, or dollar store equivalent! I decided to go with silly-cone mostly because it was cheap and I found it first. How extremely scientific of a decision lol
This was the start of the potting (I think it's called potting but I could be wrong):
I added more on top of the piezo discs once the layer shown here had dried a bit then left it all to dry for about 18 hours.
So, overall, I think the task went well but I have to say a massive thank you to EVERYONE that helped and offered their advice so freely and generously. I couldn't have done it without you all and I think you're all superstars. :)
Hi everyone. So, as a way to wrap up the post I thought it would be nice to include a test recording for all those who offered advice on how to attach the piezo discs. Here it is. Please bear in mind that 1, I can't play, 2, I'm recording on a laptop and not a professional set up at all and 3. I'm using an amp designed for a ukulele that doesn't have the overdrive function. Still, I think it sounds pretty good, don't you think?
Thanks very much, Gary. I'm over the moon with how it's turned out and sounds. Just three months ago I'd have never imagined that a decent sounding instrument could be made at home with just a few tools, a bit of imagination and a lot of help from you guys. Let alone that it could look half decent! Flabbergasted!
Hey Dave. Thanks and glad you like it and think it sounds great. No idea what a Dobro is but I've seen the word around. Feel free to call me Dobro Dani or anything else. Just don't call me Too Early or Late For Dinner lol
I've not heard them, Dave. I feel a YouTube moment coming up ;) I'll go take a look-see.
