I think it does because this sucker is loud for the size. I made sure to clear out the center of the bamboo from the tail to nut just so it would do that. This is my second bamboo neck. They are both pretty loud with lots of resonance.

The volume and uke like tone surprised me.  Bamboo.  I don't recall any bamboo necks before.  Maybe the hollow neck adds some volume and resonance.
