My take on Leon Payne's The Lost Highway. Played on my Cadburys biscuit tin guitar through my little suitcase amp.

I'm a rolling stone, all alone and lost
For a life of sin, I have paid the cost
When I pass by, all the people say
"Just another guy on the lost highway"

Just a deck of cards and a jug of wine
And a woman's lies make a life like mine
Oh, the day we met, I went astray
I started rollin' down that lost highway

I was just a lad, nearly twenty-two
Neither good nor bad, just a kid like you
And now I'm lost, too late to pray
Lord, I've paid the cost on the lost highway

Now, boys, don't start your ramblin' round
On this road of sin or you're sorrow bound
Take my advice or you'll curse the day
You started rollin' down that lost highway

That really is an excellent performance - nice singing and the CBG sounds great.

Thanks John. Yes, I know Hank did his bit to make this song famous.

The BBC produced a four part documentary about the history of Country Music called The Lost Highway that began with morphing between differing versions of the song to show the development of the country sound.

Check it out - The Lost Highway

A big WOW of amazement and admiration, Vinyl.   Purely wonderful- the excellent musicianship, banjo tone (works great here) and the version.   Super!   Did you know this is a Hank Williams song?

Cheers folks.

Anders - It's tuned GDG, but I've got a capo on the 2nd fret as I'm not Barry White.
