No, not really, Unk. Certainly usin the notes there in runs, maybe , but not as chords.

Lets take my FCF down to EBE, and again down to DAD (FCF/EBE/DAD the SAME, to ll extent and puproses). I could play this exact number note for note, as I do above, in FCF/EBE/DAD).

Lets take fron DAD viewpoint; open DAD (or 12th Fret), is the I chord. The 1v chord is at 5th fret, and the V chord at the 7th Fret (OK, ya KNOW this already). But as I am tunes modal (no THIRD), then th 5th and 7th fret can be both Major and minor. They are how I want to define them. Which I do define as minor by playing the F natural note at the the third fret, and elsewhere, to define the key  as Minor. (Dminor, if we are taliking about DAD tuning).DAD =EBE=FCF (my tuning in song). Minor third in open tuning makes key minor. Mahir third makes key Major. Go to a piano, play notes D F#A, ya gota D Major chord F# note is Major third note). Lower the F# to F natural, ya got a D minor chord.

Jamie,  Are you playing a IVI guitar at the 3rd, 10th and 8th frets to get the minor sounds?

Hi, Unk. The tuning is modal (or a "Root/Five tuning ). i.e  if you look at EBE, then that is modal, and can be minor or major (modal = the 1 and V, but no third : G or G#). So the notes I play make it MINOR.

If another song, I could play same tuning, and be playing in Major, if I want to MAKE the key Major (by playing a Major third, rather than a flattened third, as ah do in " See That My Grave Is Kept Clean" song.

Given that I've moved up a step (EBE up to FCF), I am effectively playing in F Modal, and making it F minor. So you are 100% correct, Unk. I am playingb in a minor key, because ma configuration of notes MAKE the modal key minor!

Thanks Jamie.  I thought you were in a minor key tuning.  Sounds kind of that way to me.  Maybe just because I think of the song in a  minor key.  Worked good as you did it.

Thanks, Unk. Ah'm tuned FCF. Well, really  just EBE, as ah like ta think of it, but up a half step (semi tone).

btw, ah sold this guitar recently (video was done 2 weeks  ago, but ah forgot to upload it) It was a nice Chickenbone John build. But I had to offload a few guitars (ah sold two archtops the other week too), as needed money, and have two  more 3 stringers anyway. (more cash flow than poverty LOL)
