Thanks Matthew and J. Rob. Glad you guys commented on the guitar sound, yep it's tuned DGB J.  I just redid the electronics, ditching the old pre-amp I built and going straight into my little mixing board.  I now have a flat rod piezo in the bridge and a disc underneath the lid in parallel. It's a hot signal and needs some moderate to severe EQ, but I like the result - full and plucky.  Pretty close to what I've always wanted and Uncle John termed as the "amped acoustic sound."
