Thanks guys the old metal snares will take a bass pedal fixed straight onto its raised edge edge 

then you have a foot snare... how can I buy or make a bass pedal wirebrush or stick rather than a felt beater?

tuning low drone string low e or a , then d a d but havent checked it..could be up or down from here...

but basically the principle....see Shane Wagstafs video on it he explains it...
