Thanks, Clock, Phil, Mark ... to answer your questions, guys, there is no cut-away, the neck goes straight through. I left it like that because I knew that the tin top would depress into the neck anyway if not left in contact with the neck. One reason it sounds so good is that I used a rod piezo, cut into a groove of the neck right under the bridge. This cuts way down on feedback.The bridge is bone set into wood.

Nice picking Tim. I, too would like to know if there is a cutaway under the soundboard...I am just about to begin a build using a similar shaped tin. What did you use for a bridge?
