Steve, a diode looks sort of like a resister but has a glassy look (the outside layer looks clear).

Comment by Corbie on January 26, 2012 at 11:09am: Nice job of it, you make it look as easy. Love the way you researched the signal back to the radio receiver. I'm going to check the small radio amp that I made. I disconnected the ferite antenna instead. Mine is also weak on the volume.
