One of your finest Vocal performances Derek!, I sometimes find it hard to watch, and listen to a nearly 6 minute Vid, without fast forwarding it, this one had in me in for the entire 5.45 min's, and am now listening to it again as I type, also nice to see Victor Mature make a Cameo Appearance :-)

Yes, a little autobiographical, Andries. My folks had me and my sister baptized when we lived out west, then they moved us to Ohio (where they were from, and we grew up and is "home"), and we got baptized again in the church they were married. Maybe to get the California off our skin lol :) I did get my coat caught on some thorns/brambles walking up the steps out of the park. Other than that I guess I always like Heaven / Hell type themes and temptations, but I made up the rest. Thank you for the very kind comments, making me smile!

Thank you John! Played around with modulation on this one with the key change in the bridge. The piano seemed a little more dramatic there than just the guitar. I had drums on it too but my wife did not like 'em so off they came :)

whell you took some time and efford on this one Derek, its rich in sound because of your instrumental selection , your on the topic earlyer ,so autobiografical? great work on the imagery aswell , verry accessible , your singing voice is almost agellic  like! fine recording ! thanks for upload Derek!

Thank you, Kale. I wish I could play the piano for real but I can only poke and stab at the keys. I do like a piano guitar combo type thing too. This ended up with a bunch of tracks. Happy New Year!

LOL on those great lyrics.   Love this one.  Pretty much inclusive to most of us.  Love this one.   Gee, my ears are not used to separating and listening to piano parts.  I did not even hear them until I read Kales comments.   Nice addition.

Nicely played and sung Derek. Beautifully written and a really nice recording. I like the piano fills sprinkled throughout the song.
