Hello,
I have started a CBN group entitled, "How to Play CBG" It is my hope and intention to encourage the "Wealth of Talent" here on the Nation to share their knowledge and skill to further the CBG movement. Please consider contributing an instructional "video" link to this group. If you are a viewer seeking instruction, please feel free to write. If you have any suggestions or know other players who you think may want to post instructional "video" links, please contact me. Thank you for your interest and support, Keni Lee

Hi I'm new here. I recently inheried a CBG built by Fuzzy Lightner. It's a 4-string and I've been researching tunings for it. CHatroom folk here said you had some of fuzzy's work.
What can you tell me about him?

Doug

Hey Ham,
I totally spaced on the CD you left when you visited my place. I've been listening to it all morning and you guys are great! The sound you and Slide have is somehow tight and loose at the same time if that's possible, which is a good thing... I'm particularly fond of cut #3 but I don't recall the title?
Keep up the great work... and I look forward to hearing you guys live.

Thanks for your comment on Ol' Devil.
Unfortunately the neck wasn't strong enough for the six steel strings so I had to change it to nylon strings.
Still sounded ok but I prefer steel. I use harder wood now.

Put a pic up of your box and lid with fresh stain on it.

I saw that you were asking about soundholes on the chat board. On a lot of my cbg's I've used Closet Pole Sockets. The are found at Lowe's with the closet shelving. They have about a 1 3/8" opening and are drilled for 3 mounting screws. Come in a few varieties. Only cost about $1.47 for 2.
Just a suggestion, hope it helps.

The amp does sound a bit different in it's new enclosure. I believe it sounds a bit better. Better tone than the plastic.

thanks for the comment about my guitars, i am searching for what they sound like as much as what they look like, that is why i have a nice variety going on. if i could run across the kind of neck and the kind of box that is in your banjo-neck guitar i would really like that as much as all the stuff i have built put together. i would prize that build for its playability that i am sure of. i am having the time of my life doing this work, i dont do it for money i do it for fun in the name of science. it is nice talking with you hope to talk to you more later. take care man.
