thanks fer the video comment on the coffin style d-bow brother, but i owe the design ideas to ted crocker and jim[the jim that has the vengeance guit] and you because of the new build you got going.it started out with late night discussions on the chat cause we would sometimes talk till the wee hours of the morning, and all the while i kept going back and looking at yer new build.i still have pics of the old build that you are modeling the new one after. i have only seen one box on e-bay that was just like the first montecristo build you did that had that shape. that is a great guitar the one with the red neck. now if i could just learn to play as well as you i would be doing something then. ok bro i got to bounce so take care across the big pond.

On the big box the bracing under the top runs parallel to the bridge underneath and there are two braces on each side going from the center to the corners. I added an extra brace parallel to the bridge because the top sunk down a little; on the guitar style dulcimer I only used one brace under the top parallel to and underneath the bridge, I radiused it a little so the top bow just slightly and it flattened out under string tension. Hope this is helpful.

Yes it is the corner of Church Street, very small world. Although I now live in Wickersley.

Been looking at your guitars on myspace, and they are absolutly amazing, very impressive.

Your right about the adictiveness. I haven't started making it yet and i'm boring the mrs with my plans.

Got the oak, just waiting for the box that i bought from ebay to arrive.

juju, thanks for the feedback. You are building some very impressive instruments yourself. The woodburning is fun to and takes the emphasis off the finish which is not my strong suite. I haven't gotten around to doing any videos of my instruments; it really should. The big box has the best acoustic tone of all my instruments, but not with the current set of strings, DGBE (one octave down) it's pretty muddy, will go back to GDAD again or maybe another experimental set of strings and tuning. The big box has guitarstyle bracing under the top, had to add an extra brace because the top started sinking. Doug

Yeah, all good here mate. You? Keeping busy obviously! I cant find anyone else with sensible chunks of lacewood either mate, but Il go have a look at my lump and price it - it wont be a lot of money though :o) If you fancy some, give me an idea of size and Il work something out with you.
All the best B

Hi, Julian! Yep, it's me over here at last. I'm poking about for tips on fiddles and upright bass. A few summer projects now that days are longer and teaching is over for the year.
I love to visit your page and hear you playing. When are we going to see a new instrument?

Hey,
Sounds like a worth while investment. The man can surely play. I think his CD may well be on the shopping list as well.
