Thanks for the invite Chris! Good to know there's some cigar box fans in your neck of the woods!

That slide collection is just a result of a 11+ year old guitar habit... hahaha! And if you think that's bad, you should see my guitars....

Hi Chris: I created the neck for the CBG myself out of 1/2" x 1-1/2" oak, and laminated a 1/4" piece of poplar to it for the fingerboard. The only stuff purchased is the hardware, strings and cigar box. Thanks for your interest.

Hello, Chris! Yep, all the fretboards are mine. That Monopoly lunchbox went to a 10 yo boy for Xmas - he could hardly put it down.

Hi Chris
Thanks for your kind words and freinds invite
as regards making the bobbins you can check out my pickups Album should give you a idea how the bobbins are constructed theres loads of in progress pictures - step by step pics of the flatwork been marked out /drilled for the magnet poles and Brass eyelets for the wire connections http://www.cigarboxnation.com/photo/albums/pickups-2

i see your in the USA most people buy the winding wire from stewmac - it's the best place and best price for most pickup parts heres a link to the wire you will need http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Electronics,_pickups/Pickups:_Parts/Pickup_Coil_Wire.html

if you need anymore infomation just ask
Cheers mate happy 2010

Hey Keven for what your building, I think you should go with a piezo pickup. Go to http://www.mojocbg.com . They sound awsome and a great price too.

Haven't had much luck in finding out about pickups yet, although I'm told there is a lot of info out there online. Maybe you'll have better luck than I. But I do need to continue my search. I haven't even been able to learn what kind of magnets to use or where to find them! lol

Nope not a plumber but I do use lots of parts from the plumbing section.. I us the drain covers mainly for appearance. I think they give a slightly more metallic sound especially when plugged in.. Paint can lids or license plates are both good and loud to use for starter resonator projects..
Good luck..
