sorry to answer a bit late to your question dated Sep 23; I've just noticed it. I'm sorry I can't say why the tone doesn't change with your standard tone pot and cap setup. The only thing which I would suggest is to change two parameters:
Regarding the pot, I would try it with a linear taper, in case it's now loagarithmic. And regarding the cap, I'd try 47nF.
Hi Mark. Thanks for taking the time to reply in such detail regarding my left handed bridge problem. You're right with your last comment about the philosophy of this CBG malarky but being a design engineer by trade I'm finding it difficult compromise in areas of build, function and aesthetics. Having said that, this is only my second build and no doubt my attitude will change.
As for the build, I'm just gonna reverse the bridge in the saddle and angle the whole arrangement on the soundboard accordingly for a left hander irrespective if it looks a bit odd. Thanks again for your friendship and advice . It's much appreciated.
Thanks for your comment on the video I posted. It led me to check out your photos, and I was over the moon to see your M & S biscuit tin guitar. It was seeing photos documenting its construction on your web-page that persuaded me to attempt to build my own.
I've now seen pictures of thousands of wonderful hand built guitars on this site, but that biscuit tin of yours remains my favourite.
Cheers for the inspiration.

Mark,
Thanks very much for the kind words. You've got some really nice work and it looks like you're handy with a camera too.
thanks for the comments on the vid mark . btw nice cbg they look good . wish i had could make one but to be honest i am a bit rubbish at stuff like that .
Thanks for the friend invite! I saw your M&S tin guitar online before I made my first instrument or discovered this site, I had the same tin on top of a cupboard. I made my first instrument from a tin a few months later. But I also agree with Mark's comment below...how do you guys get that finish?
thanks for adding me mark, your stuff is very tidy, i'm of the rough 'n ready- cheap 'n' cheerfull school myself,-how do you guys get that finish.anyway, i'll carry on with #02 in a bumbly way,i keep changing my mind all the time i'm building, but i'm having fun and that's the point eh?
Hey mate, the stuff your doing is light years ahead of me,which makes your comment really special to me, thanks so much, honestly you really made my day :)

The linear impedance of an FP4 is around 1.5kOhm.
thanks mark .
