I have had one for a while but just have never pulled the trigger on that build. But in regards to the pre-amp housing, yes, getting the battery out with the unit set in like that was an issue but all i did was sand the sides of the battery holder a little bit which made it come out easier, cause when you put a battery in em their a little tough to get out. So I also made the little fingernail gripper part of the battery holder a little bigger too, and it works slicker than greased Moose snot now.
