Mr. Sam I am told you are the King of Canjos I would like to make a couple for some of the younger set that I know. Do you happen to have any pictures of some that you have made? Can you use a soda can if so how do you treat the transition from the neck to the can. Thanks for your help. Jim
Hi Sam,
Just sent my details to your inbox on the nation. I will wait till I hear from you. As I said before there is no rush so don't put yourself out too much.
Hi Sam,
I would be interested in all of them but I have picked the Top right and middle left.
If you could let me know a price and shipping I will see if I can afford it this week (on a pension). If not I will have them, or any of them, next week.
Many thanks for your time and generosity.
Hogs.

I like your stuff! I can see where polyurethane could come in handy to seal in the stickers and paper on a cbg body. It just makes me cringe when someone "slathers" a beautiful piece of anything with poly. Not that you do, but far too many folks do. Glad to hear your family is poly-free! Ha ha.....

Thanks Sam my son Dallas was 12 when he recorded that song
Sam there's nothing fancy it is built just like a stick thru cbg.
Just make a neck like you normally do except instead of cutting a square notch in a cigar box you cut it in a metal hubcap. Thanks for the comment and yeah I am lookin for more hubcaps too!
Hello,
I have started a CBN group entitled, "How to Play CBG" It is my hope and intention to encourage the "Wealth of Talent" here on the Nation to share their knowledge and skill to further the CBG movement. Please consider contributing an instructional "video" link to this group. If you are a viewer seeking instruction, please feel free to write. If you have any suggestions or know other players who you think may want to post instructional "video" links, please contact me. Thank you for your interest and support, Keni Lee
That's tough to hear about J Lowe and his views. I for one don't hold his particular viewpoint, but hey, I'm patriotic. Sounds like his views are similar to 70s US when the Vietnam vets came back.
That is so cool that you send CBGs to the troops. Wonderful! Send 'em a cake and they eat for a day, send 'em a CBG and they'll be entertained for weeks, right? I'm all into freedom(s) as you might have guessed. My best and well wishes to your servicemen relatives! I live in SC (Marines here) and you can't swing a stick without seeing a serviceman or vet.
Yeah, John Mc is an known "unknown". He ought to be making CDs if he isn't already.
I gotta tell ya Sam, this video got me hooked and I still think (other than pat mAcdonald's Reset Me Lord) is the finest example of what a CBG can sound like.
DISCLAIMER: I have absolutely NO want, need or desire to own or replicate a certain instrument discussed in a recent forum thread. Nor am I making any comments to the merits of the instrument. My comments below are from a complete engineering point of view. I also DO NOT recommend nor advocate the copying of proprietary technologies.
However... short of any custom internal electronics, custom pickups or interesting internal acoustics, the instrument construction seems pretty straight forward: Two separate sets of pickups, two outputs (seen from the posted pics), strings in a certain configuration. I can't find and tone/volume controls, so that must be set internally, if exists.
Sam, did you ever find anything for the "trapeze" tailpieces you were looking for? I have a couple of handles from a washtub bass, and was thinking of using them as a tailpiece on a 2.5" through neck (like the doodle bass I built). Smaller buckets might do for what you wanted.
Hi Wichita Sam, Listening to you playing and singing, just hope that I can learn to play as well, and sing (in my poor voice) praises to God and pass on his Word in song. You sound real good. One of my favorite verses, is Romans 1017, "so then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God." Keep preaching Sam.

There is mystery, but I'm sure that must exist.
