Take the wire off an old broom
Off the side of your house gotta find some room
Get two old cans and a couple of nails
Hook up the wire and your ready to sail.

With only one string you cant go wrong
So go ahead and make yourself a song
Make it kinda funky cause everybody gonna know
You have yourself a diddley bow.

Diddley bow diddley bow all the time
Lord have mercy gonna have a good time
Diddley bow diddley bow all the time
Lord have mercy gonna have a good time

JUNGLE BEAT !!!!

With only one string you cant go wrong
So go ahead and make yourself a song
Make it kinda funky everybody gonna know
You have yourself a diddley bow.

If you want one just like mine
You need a two by four and a little bit of time
Decorate it up and your good to go
You got yourself a diddley bow.

Diddley bow diddley bow all the time
Lord have mercy gonna have a good time
Diddley bow diddley bow all the time
Lord have mercy gonna have a good time

Thanks Roger,

I used the tube aluminum bass on it, my tamborine stomp box and a 4 string CBG with a card stuck in the strings for a scratchy sound....

the best,

Sam

I actually built it about four months ago but only just got the pictures up last week. The wear on the face is from actual playing. I play in a few bands and have been putting in some fun hours practicing to get "Julie" up to performing standard. I didn't cover or lacquer the box in any way and the thin paper coating doesn't last long under a pick...

Thanks for your thoughts Roger. I too think a distressed neck would look good. It was my first build and I just followed the guide lines. Maybe when I change the strings next I could do a number on the neck
