Michael, your 2nd build looks great, great job. The neck and headstock ---I like the shape, very nice. Yep, you are definitely going to take therapy. LOL

Michael, the threaded nuts work great. I will make a note about the screws. Thanks.

Thank you, Michael. Nice 2nd neck. How are the screws as the nut doing for you? Very great idea. Are the strings staying in the slots in the screws? Just wandering, I might try it on one of my builds. Always thinking about how to build the next one.

Michael, good for you, you are fast. I have been out of town, I hadn't had a chance to work on mine much. Will make pics tomorrow before I do any other work to it. Be sure to take a pic of your finished CBG, I would like to see it.

Hey Michael, I have been working on my #2 today, too. My husband tried to cut my neck ---headstock slanted, but it wouldn't work. I don't know what machine would be best to cut the slant angle on the headstock. I worked on my neck, box, and fretboard. I am going to take some pics before I go any further.

Michael, good for you. It is already in your blood. You want to make another one, uh? Good idea, to sell it. If I get good enough, I might try that too. But I have this problem with parting with them after I build them. LOL.

Michael, you are lucky to get those saws free. Yes, you are right about being careful round power tools, cause they can hurt you in a blink of an eye. I will put a radial saw on want list. LOL

Michael, that was great to get two necks with one cut. I don't have either one of those saws. I have a table, miter, and circular saw. I am planning to buy a scroll saw to cut the designs on the headstocks. I am scared of the table saw; my husband has supervise me.

Michael, I am glad you like the heart shaped tin. Yea, I wasn't even thinking about Valentine when I started on it. It was like it saying to me---do me first!!LOL I have been having a problem with keeping it tuned. Yesterday, I think I found out the problem. I placed the plastic tops of syringes in the string holes on the tail piece. The strings are cutting right through the plastic like butter. I need to replace the tops with metal gromlets which is not going to look as good as the red tops, but you can't have everything. My great idea of the tops didn't work. Oh well, try this, and if it doesn't work, try something else.

Michael, you are very welcome. No, I didn't notice the size of your box. I think all my boxes are that size. I was just wandering, I had forgot the measurement went from the bridge to the nut. By the way, how did you make that slant in your head stock? Did you angle cut it with a table saw? Very nice job.

Michael, your first build is great, I like the rough look, and the screws for the nut. Great idea. Perfect. Is your scale 24" from the headstock to the front of the box?
Like you, I have just one so far. I am working on my second one. It gets in your blood. You did a nice job on your first one.

Ooooops. BIG correction:

"I am now into laminating the neck pieces together to create a much stronger neck design. "

Sorry. That would not have made a good tip!

(cont) Sometimes I glue, sometimes I screw. Depends. If you glue, I would use hide or gelatine glue. Search Secrets of the CBG Undergound for 'Oyster Glue'. That's my miracle glue. This will come off if needed.

Check out my blog pages for info. I also have a Google Sketchup doc of CBG plans. Download the free Google Sketchup app or viewer and take a look.
