Hello,
I have started a CBN group entitled, "How to Play CBG" It is my hope and intention to encourage the "Wealth of Talent" here on the Nation to share their knowledge and skill to further the CBG movement. Please consider contributing an instructional "video" link to this group. If you are a viewer seeking instruction, please feel free to write. If you have any suggestions or know other players who you think may want to post instructional "video" links, please contact me. Thank you for your interest and support, Keni Lee

Hey Jon-D, just got your message from last Feb. I haven't had much time to spend here. Finally have a bit of free time. Regarding your question on where the David Lindley photo was taken... It was at Hugh's Room in Toronto. Really great show he put on. I've been a fan of his since I saw him play in Vancouver back in the 80's. Got him to sign the back of the Daddy Mojo guitar. Sent the pic to Lenny at DM. He was tickled, as was I. Anyhow, get out to many gigs about town? Perform many yourself?

Cheers!

Arthur

Yeah. The Cone is placed on top of a soundwell and the bridge in on top of the soundwell. When you pluck a string it vibrates the bridge, which vibrates the cone and it echoes in the soundwell. My soundwell is just the bottom of a paint can. I cut the bottom off, but left a little can attached for a soundwell (two birds with one stone). So basically my whole reso setup is a paint can. Check out my pictures and this may make more sense. Also check out soundssogood's pictures. His setup is AMAZING! That's actually where I got some ideas.

Yeah that's what my first one was. Just the lid of a cd cover tin. I'm hoping to get my new reso done this weekend. and I'll post some pictures of my process for a custom cone.

Cool. I'll check it out.

I had that buzz on my reso too after I first built it, but I realligned the buzzing string on the bolt and the buzz stopped. It actually sounded better afterward. Does yours have a cone?

The honey tone is cheaper, about $30 with the power pack. But if you read the reviews, it seems to be the preferred mini-amp. I have been really happy with mine. You can only expect so much from a 3" speaker though.

You're the first person I remember seeing use the salt/pepper shakers for soundholes, I never thought of that one.

Jon, the amp you asked about has controls for volume, tone, and gain. It is the guts from a Danelectro Honey Tone. So it is either plug-in or 9volt battery. Has headphone jack as well. Hope this helps.

Yes, played in Toronto many times ... I live about 90 klms for there ... my guitar looks like Bo's but it's actually larger and is semi-acoustic ... it's my second rectangle since the 60s .... not intended to copy Bo, actually made like this so I would stand up when leaned on something .. (couldn't afford a stand)
