I can finish a CBG in about a week, working on them after my "day job". So on average, I spend about 1-2 hours a night working on them. And it also depends on what box I'm using and what sound holes I'm installing in them. Fretting is easy, you should give it a shot. I can have a guitar fretted and ready to go in about an hour. I have templates I've made, fret miter box, and a beveled jig for the ends of the frets that makes the job easier. Good luck!

Hey Cb,
Sure, Waycross is just up the road.
I lean a litle more towards folk and old time than bluegrass, so frequent the Folk Fest on the Suwannee in White Springs. I mostly play solo, but have been in a couple of bands. "No Commercial Appeal" and Antidote fer instance.
It's been fun discovering this great neighborhood of enthusiastic musician/builders. Thanks again for your kind words on the vid...

I'm glad you found what you needed at Lee's. From building things over the years, I've become pretty good at tracking down parts. I'm happy to help whenever possible.

thanks man. yes that was through a little cbg amp. get yourself a danelectro honeytone mini amp,you can get them for $20.00. take the guts out and put them in a nice cigarbox. i spent $30.00 on a bunch of parts to make an amp,and two days work, and it doesnt sound as good as a danelectro.

You might try : Lee Hardware & Building Supplies at 721 Albany Ave. Waycross GA 31501 to look for the brass corners. Their online catalog had them 4 for $3.80, maybe they have them in stock at the store. Just thought I'd let you know in case you hadn't checked Lee's yet.

Thanks for the comment on my Diddley Bow. I'll probably post a video shortly, so you can hear it. I buy my brass corners at Home Depot in the hardware aisle next to the hinges, latches, etc. I think they are like $2.88 for 4 corners. Hope this helps.

Hey Dude, I just use plain ol guitar strings. Usually E, A or D strings. The Single coil plank and the Howling Coyote ones have flat wound strings on them. (leftovers) Hope I helped, and have FUN! :)
