I made my first bottle neck slide by cutting the neck off a wine bottle with a Tile Saw.It took hours of fine sawing,but still chipped a bit at the ends and I had the seam to remove.Hours more sanding,going from about 80 grit paper through to 1200 wet and dry paper,then finished off with 2 different types of toothpaste.Remember to sand around the slide rather than along it,as the strings pick up the tiny scratches(learned this the hard way).After the best part of 2 days sawing,sanding and polishing,I've got a nice sounding little slide,but I'll have to find an easier way before I start the next one!

If your bottleneck fits snug on your finger, just position the seams out of your way. You could also use Crocus cloth to sand glass smooth. Enjoy.

Use old bottles with no moulding seam.

Or yeah, you could grind & polish the seam out if you want.

yeah ive got the same problem too
