Three string canjo with dulcimer fretting .

25.5 in scale , Neck is made from and old tobacco stick. Didn't do any staining to it all natural.. Just some tung oil.

About a 'tabacco stick ", YEARS ago ( I'm 57 ) they would harvest the tobacco and take it to a barn where it was tied to these sticks and hung in a barn to be heat cured . It would stay in the barn for about 3 days , then it was unstrung , placed on large sheets and carried to market and sold ... So these sticks have years of heat curing and tobacco drippings on them , giving them an almost golden color .. The picture really doesn't do it justice ... It turned out real nice ...
