For my soldier in Afganistan,    poplar structure with birch top n bottom finished by schorching with my torch then coating with black kiwi boot polish then setting the polish on fire with the torch to burn it in  two more coats rubbed in good you get a good rugged rustic firish that is easy to care for and maintain .  Just rub on a little more kiwi and she shines again just with more charater.
