Cigarette Clamp......
another piece of the brittle top broke, i put a piece of wood with blue tape underneath, then glued the piece and added tension by wrapping a few rounds of tape on the cigarette filter. pushed it in there. it actually is pushing the piece together. (dark color is water cleaning the surface).

should have used the scroll saw, as Pick suggested, but i wanted to leave the hinges intact. when removed to take the top off, they just won't go back in right.
used a very small hobby jig saw with a very small blade, but the teeth were too rough. next time i'll make multiple passes with a dremel and jig, gifted to me by my daughter in June. need practice. i go right for the piece.
