I'm under the gun trying to finish these and yes, there's a few changes I'd make on a few of these builds. I prefer finishing and then having the guitars around for a while to tweak them: like darkening the wood more to match the box age.
As for the boxes, I get them at estate sales, from friends and then sometimes on the eBay. Most eBay ones get pricey quick so I avoid them. That long republic box is from 1890!! And it sounds great with just double piezoelectric in it. The neck needs to be thinned. Too stocky for my taste.

Holey Sheet!   Those are some of the best boxes around and nice builds too.  Man, those two long tall sallys on the left are just thrilling.   Gees, the bowler, the white bear (I think) the black heart and the orange 22.  Man!

Love the buffalo.  I'd like to get a box like that.  It's the only one I would change.  I would just darken and age that neck to match the old timeyness.  

This display really grabs me!
