Making A Custom Size Jack Plate 2.

Here's the jack plate drilled, countersunk, cut and filled to roughly the final shape. I did all the drilling and countersinking before cutting from the main sheet with a hacksaw for ease of handling and used my trusty mega cheapo modified drill press (see pics elsewhere on my page) which made the job a lot easier. I also countersunk the central hole slightly by hand to deburr then filed the sides to finished size and rounded off the corners by eye with a final sand with some 600 and 1000 grit wet and dry paper. It's bit rough and ready but a teeny bit more detail work with the files and a mirror polish on the buffing mops, along with a few other stainless steel parts later in the build should shine it up a treat. The main thing is it fits as I need it to and the holes are the right size!
