Comment by Rubén on February 7, 2017 at 8:32am: Mieres is in Asturias, in the north of Spain, and chestnut grows a lot around here, in fact, in autumn, there are people in the streets selling roasted chestnuts. I like this wood very much, is strong and beautiful.

Comment by Jerry Jordan on February 7, 2017 at 6:58am: not sure where Mieres is , but I dug up an old stump 10 years ago and dried it out.,.,it was worth about 50 or 60 fingerboards.,.,blight killed all the Chestnut 90 years ago around here .....great tone wood though.....
