5-string banjo made with NO commercial parts(except the strings -- I'm working on that): Tuners are handmade friction pegs; frets are from the metal rod inside discarded windshield wiper blades; side dot markers are individual plastic hairbrush bristles.

I read that as individual toothbrush bristles and thought "those are some small fret markers." oops. Nice work.
