Picked this old Samsonite suitcase up at a place in the Old Market in Downtown Omaha and knew what it needed to be the minute I saw it. The original keys to lock it up are tied with a string around the handle if you want to lock her up for safe keeping.

I hear ya Ron, time is something I do not have enough of.

My problem is that my project list always seems to be 10x my free time to work on them. I'm hoping to get something done on something or another today but I'll probably end up raking leaves and cleaning the garage.

For example: I picked up some Hickory Friday and would like to cut a couple of necks to length . My garage is still half full of my mother-in-laws things left over from her move a few months back. It's going to take me a couple of hours of boxing and organizing just to get close enough to my chop saw to even use it. Oh, the horror,.. the horror   ;)

Thanks Wes.

Ron, gotcha. Didn't have my thinkin' cap on, lookin' forward to seeing some pics of the build sooner not later:-)

Speakin' of which, I better get busy on a new project myself.

I really like the idea of using these old cases for this. They can really sound great and much more interesting than a run of the mill guitar speaker cab.

Mine is just going to house the speaker, not a combo amp/speaker like yours. I'm going to use it with a outboard amplifier. I have been sitting on the suitcase and driver I'm going to use for a while now but only gotten as far as gutting out fabric covered liner and dividers so far. At this rate, I ought to have it done by the time spring rolls around. Hopefully a bit sooner ;)

Thanks Ron, closed back.  I built this one earlier this year but just now posting. How do you mean yours is not going to be powered? Battery?

Looking good, Maddog! Open or closed back?

I've got something similar in the works but it's not going to be powered.
