Thanks for the kind words y'all. I've added the veneer to the top, which is actually the back of the box. The back of the instrument (top of the box) has a nice design on it. The pickup is my own build. A sort of strat style in a les paul type mounting ring. I'll post some samples or vids when I get around to it.

Gotta decide whether to add frets or not?

Very smart! Was that grain really on the cigar box or is it a laminate?
