Yes, all the parts in the Ruby circuit I soldered up for this worked just fine anywhere from 7.5 to 12 volts. I tested it on my bench power supply and didn't get any advantage running it on 12 volts with this small of a speaker.

 

These amps can go many many hours on a single 9 volt charge. I'm at over 15 hours of listening on my red one over http://www.cigarboxnation.com/photo/albums/cba-2-ruby-cigar-box - the stereo is broke in my truck so this is what I listen with on road trips.

 

I have heard that with a 12 volt power supply one of these can drive a full size 4x12 speaker cabinet, but I haven't been able to test that rumor yet. :)
