I honestly thought that I might have carved this tiny mini-dulcimer a little thin towards the back-but either this tin resonator is very sturdy on the rim or my recycled Ukulele strings are not putting enough pressure on the layered Oak to matter...

I believe that this build will continue without amplification for now. I'm carving out a light Basswood block, slightly hollowed to switch out with the candy tin for a 'Hotel room at night' option, then possibly screw a thin plywood deflector (banjo-style) to my current open-back configuration for a few extra decibels by day.

In the event I change my mind about Amping up the CanDo, I have a miniscule contact mike that I could literally zip-tie around the inside of the neck and let dangle...but for now i'm pretty happy as is.
