I think  bone  is better. You can get some real nice nuts and saddles. I get  a shin bone bleached. Femur is better due to how pounding that  bone makes  it  much  harder.

You would get a better deal buying antler pieces off ebay then buying dog chews in a pet store. I`ve seen some go as high as 17 bucks for a piece of elk antler. I bought 10 lbs. of elk antler tis for 20 bucks on ebay.

Came across this  older thread looking at nut material in a search. In my area of Texas, HEB stores sell antlers as a dog chew. They can be found in the pet section.

Honk if you're horny.   Yeah, saddles and bridges maybe and for sure just a good mojo to hang from the head stock.

Nice! How thick is the solid outside section compared to the foamy core?

Is there enough of the solid material to make nuts/bridges?

Cheers,
Steve
