It aint much to look at, but this is the little guitar that infected me with the CBG bug. It started as a science project that I built with my daughter for school (she's getting an "A" for it). We could not use any proper parts from a musical instrument. It is modeled off of a child size guitar 22 inch scale length. The box was originally about 6X6X5 but we cut it down and now it is 6X6X4. The neck is either pine or poplar scrap 1X4 that I cut down to a 1X1.5 on the table saw. I made the frets from some insulation support wire I had on hand. We just cut some grooves with the table saw and threw them in there. Only did 12 frets (her project only needed to play 7 notes). The strings are monofiliment fishing line (50lb, 30lb, 20lb) that I scrounged. Tuned to standard for now. The tuning keys are 1/4 X 1.5 inch thumb screws. I already have some better material for my second build and will make a much better one for my 2nd build. As soon as my little girl brings it home from school, I will fit it up with some light acoustic strings. I can't play worth a crap, but really enjoy plucking around on this little thing that we made with our own hands.
