I've been planning my first six string build for a good while now, I was just waiting for the right box to come along. The Room 101 - The Big Payback turned out to be perfect for the job.

The box has some unusual reinforcement on the inside aiming to cope with the tension that 6 strings through the guitar. A Telecaster style neck was shop bought and readymade really; only the headstock shape, string trees and screw holes needed to be made before finishing with Danish oil.

A stop bar and tune-o-matic style bridge were used in the build in order to show off the box’s original design.

The sound holes too; were cut and backed with a steel mesh, in order to compliment the art work. Contrary to what their design suggests; this guitar does not have wifi capabilities.

It's presently tuned to open D major with RotoSound RS200 Flatwounds for smooth slide playing.

Acoustically is got enough volume to play comfortably around the house.
It really comes into its own when plugged in, the Filtertron style humbucker not only looks great, it's got a great sound too.
