This is my second build.  I decided to get a little crazy with a not sensational cigar box.  The tuners are left over from my first build.  The fretboard is ebony stained oak and I will add zinc flat head screw markers later.  I used a humbucker blade because of 3 strings and pole piece problems which might occur with a regular pickup.  The pickup has been coil cut with a Fender style 3 way switch- single, humbucker, single.  I did a scarf joint inside the box to make room for the pickup.  I had hum at first but rewired from the input to the switch with sheilded mike cable and the hum went away.  The neck was my first attempt at routing with a cheapo Harbor Freight hand held router, but I filled in the gouges with plastic wood and painted it (the subsequent routs were fine.  This box sounds GREAT in open tuning.  I LOVE it but am moving on to build more.
