OHIO DIDDLEY #1

Goal was to make a primitive 1-string instrument as quickly as possible using mostly found parts. In this case it is made from one old tobacco stick and two found Ohio license plates. Only purchased items were the string, the zither pin, and some fret wire. I also wanted to utilize license plates without resorting to building a box. That's why I used 2 plates and separated them as simply as possible. Rougher than a cob but I'm thinkin' this is how it all began!

Now that I know this plays I'll probably tear it apart, do some tweaking, and put a few coats of Danish oil on it to seal and darken the oak. Might even install a magnetic pup under the plate.
