... just after I had to promise my wife not to build more guitars for a while I found this box. I literally found it on the street, it sat on top of a trash pile. And it's easily the best cigar box I ever had in my hands. It's huge: 38,8 by 20 by 7 cm (about 15 1/4 by 7 7/8 by 2 3/4")! And if you tap it with your fingers, it already sounds like a musical instrument!

... my willpower is really being tested here. Let's see how long I can uphold my guitar building abstinence.

Clandestine guitars... How do you do that? Do you tell her that you go out for some beers with your friends and then sneak into the basement instead?

Why is it that always happens?  The moment I promise my Sibulina I will not do another cigar box guitar at least for a while, I go out on a walk and I find a box or a gourd or a tin can begging to be turned into a guitar.

I even have some clandestine guitars on the making in the basement.

Thanks for the encouraging words, guys... I know I'm finished... There's no way I can resist making a guitar out of this beauty of a box soon.

This thing is three times the size of a normal cigar box. A CBG builder's dream. (And the funny thing is that like all the standard sized boxes it just contained 25 cigars. Those Villaverdes must have been the size of baseball bats!)

My wife's got a point, though, when she says that I always complain about being stressed and having so much work to do but then find the time to spend hours building guitars... on the other hand: I'm thinking six string - definitely a six string - maybe with a slotted headstock like a classical guitar - and with a neckblock and a dovetail joint - and with one of those archtop guitar tailpieces... well, as you said, Korrigan: I'm finished!

You're finished Hans, might as well start looking for a lawyer now.  :D

I will definitely not sell this one!

... as soon as I'm allowed to build guitars again I'll turn it into something special...

...I'm thinking six string... or a bass maybe...
