Thanks for the comments about my folk guitar. If you end up painting one, I'd like to see it.

Mark, I can't wait to see your hand-painted uke. Sounds like a great idea.

    Hey Mark,
The neck on this one is glued and screwed. I reinforce the box where the neck attaches to add some strength so it doesn't blow apart from string tension.

The arm rest on the banjo is a great idea and could be applied to cbgs too! Thanks for posting the pictures.

Does it enhance the comfort as much as you expected it to?

Yeah Mark I had an old banjo with a friction tuner on it and it was a nightmare. I play a goodtime deering banjo most of the time and I hope maybe this will be my new favorite. I have a hard time playing around that 5th tuner on the neck so maybe this will help me play the whole fretboard of my banjo HAA! thanks for the comment.

The Beast cbg: Thanks, first and only neck repair so far. The problem with the playability is the string tension, I think the overall length of the strings from tuners to anchors is just too long - they take some cranking to get up to pitch. Not so much a problem when using open tuning and slide, of course. Cheers, Mark.

    Hey Mark,
    Just saw your note.
Yeah, the lunch boxes work out well for guitars. Even have a built in handle.
Thanks for checking out my page.

thanks fur lookin mark. i have tried all kinds of neck joints and have found this type of scarf joint to be the best, but the most tricky to glue up. i found dry clampin from the sides then drill two holes in the top for #6 1/2 screws or 1/4 dowels take care of any slippage when glueing... while i was here i was lookin at yur pics, great stuff, keep buildin
