    Yeah flatfoot !
I couldn't wait to try it it really appealed to me for some reason sounds just as good or better than the round sound holes I was making and more fun to make!

    Hello,
I have started a CBN group entitled, "How to Play CBG" It is my hope and intention to encourage the "Wealth of Talent" here on the Nation to share their knowledge and skill to further the CBG movement. Please consider contributing an instructional "video" link to this group. If you are a viewer seeking instruction, please feel free to write. If you have any suggestions or know other players who you think may want to post instructional "video" links, please contact me. Thank you for your interest and support, Keni Lee

Thanks for the compliment on my instruments. They seem to always be projects in progress, as I'm constantly tweaking them...LOL!!! I guess that's what it's all about!

Thanks I am really jacked building the reso's... but I love the look and sound of your gourd banjos as well.. I am thinking about build one for myself nothing to make for sale... I have been on line looking at various plans. Still have not found a source for the gourd yet. But I have a few builds on the bench so I have time. Maybe we can swap information on techniques. I would like to know more about how you get the Ebony finish...I also need to better understand the whole claw-style... Take care - Jim
Oh I forgot to mention that here in the states there is a small internet radio show that plays cigar box and independent music. The Reverend Nix and I were talking about your stuff today. You might check out his information over on Cigar Box Radio. The link is on the home page.....

Johnny, you fooled me big time.  I heard your great video of the Cuckoo and I really thought you were an Apalachian mountain boy.  I love the way you frail.
  • anthony

    hi Johnny,

    a fellow banjoer.  liking it!

  • Uncle John

Love your full of good art instruments and photos.  The syrup banjo is my fave.  Did you see my comment regarding you in Chickenbone's 6 string video?
  • Bear

Johnny -- My tackhead's holding up pretty well; neck's very straight, and the violin-style friction tuners work fine (well, as friction tuners go)... Humidity does indeed have a significant effect on the skin head, which is why I'd like to try a skin head w/ tension hoop and brackets like your grain measure banjo. When I get to it, I may have questions fer ya'...  Wish I had clawhammer skills like you!

Shoot me an e-mail at tktreadway@aol.com with an address, and I'll send you a copy of my little homebrew cd, free of charge.

    Hi Johnny.

Thanks very much for leaving a comment on my video and for the friend request. While I think of it, may I invite you to join the London and nearby group. The idea is to compare notes on sources of materials as well as maybe arranging sharing lifts to events further north.

    Thanks again.

    John
