Wow what an AMAZING instrument!!..good luck in the contest : -)
Thinking about your group made me remember an idea I had a yr or so ago...which I thought was brilliant until someone told me it had already been done!! (since then I have some to realise that the person that told me that does talk bo***cks at times so now I'm wondering if he was right?!)
Anyway the idea was to allocate musical notes to letters of the alphabet...as there are more letters in the alphabet than notes on a piano I was going to just start again when I got to the end...BUT with a microtonal system it could work better maybe!!!
Next I was going to get some poems...and try and play them : -) As poems have rhythms and patterns in them I wondered if this would come through in the music? Hadn't worked out what to do about length of time to hold the notes...and ideally you'd need a computer programme to do it for you so you could quickly see what would happen. Anyway I sort of felt a bit deflated when that guy told me it had all been done before!!! Have you heard of anything like that??
Glad you like the "harp" guitar. Eventually I'd like to make another one similar to it...maybe with fan fretting instead of a standard 24" scale? Gotta get to the drawing board! Nice job on your doubleneck too by the way.
just came to listen to "Mountains" out of curiosity after your comment on Mr Random Writing's vid....never would have guessed that was done with nylon strings!!..sounds great btw :-)
sounds good!..is fishing line as strong as guitar strings??
btw just started reading "Silence" by John Cage, have you read it???...I'm guessing you have, but if not you definitely should!!!
Thanks henry, was asking the question because i know the problem im having with my hands is not going to get better. So thought the Ebow might be an answer.
You got the link in the end - very useful - I had seen the forum and a few others with similar queries but that really helps me understand how to set it up when I get the goatskin. Thanks for helping with the search
Hi Henry..Thank you VERY much for your feedback..I was a little apprehensive when I posted the link..super glad that you liked it and I will certainly post more when I finish them.
HI Henry..The "1light signal" was not open to DL when I uploaded it whilst the others were. so I fiddled with some settigs so that folk could DL the light signal..glad that you like the other beaty stuff..working on blending the 2 like you..seems to be a little like alchemy to get it sounding right!
I have found one act who do it really well.. the are called F@~k Buttons and you can find them on the ATP (all tomorrows parties) lable..spk later
Thanks for the comment - a band you say? Count me in... in the true spirit of most musicians I have ever met, I might not always turn up on the right day but it's the thought that counts
The new African music video is not mine. I embedded it from Youtube. If you double click on the video it will take you to Youtube and the embedding code. If it is possible to embed videos on the other site, you can easily do it yourself if you like. Thanks again. It really is a wonderful video. Enjoy.
Hi Henry, thanks for the video comment...yeah not very deep and meaningful, just a bit of a laugh!...though someone did say it would make a good political song??!!...I suppose using the sheep as a metaphor for politicians?? spreading their shit/lies...so try thinking of it like that, lol!
