Really like that banjo with the drum body!

    And your truck! Sweet!

Thanks JP. THe piezo sandwich is nice. Isolates it from the box so it only picks up the string vibrations. Does have a lower volume though so ya have to crank the amp more.

Hi JP.  What' buzzin?  Thanks for your comments on Cigar Box Guitar song.  Have not seen your new video yet.  Caution, after York Fest, there are likely to be floods of videos for a while.  Hey, you have some photos I have not seen.  Got to check them out.

hello there, first of all... "Excellantro" is hysterical. amazing. and second... if you want to use old video clips in reverse for your music... you can download allllll sorts of things from this website: http://www.archive.org/mediatypes-browse.php?mediatype=movies most of it is totally fine to use (legally speaking... and if you mess with the stuff that's not legal to use... know one will ever know ;)... and then if you have even just Imovie you can use that to reverse it, slow it down, speed it up... or if you go for the "big guns" use final cut!...(which I'm hopefully getting my paws on soon)! Thanks for all yr kind words :) ~Heidi

10 miles away, we be safe here. thanks for the concern.
  • Rick Hayes

Thanks JP, the reso crutch went to my daughter, a budding guitar collector. This was "the other crutch". They make a good platform for something easy and different.
  • Keni Lee Burgess

  • Uncle John

Hi JP.   Loved  your fish shaped jello mold build.  Wish I could have seen your face and heard it!

  • Kevin Sprague (Knotlenny)

    Hi JP,

Thanks for your kind comment on my videos.  Yes "Bound To Roll" is just a little tune that I came up with . . but I was going for an old time traditional blues sound.  Thanks!

  • mike anderson Blues Box Guitars

JP, just let me know how many strings and the string spacing.

  • mike anderson Blues Box Guitars

well, better to be a smart-ass than a dumb-ass. i could use some bass tuners, was just given a danelectro dano-blaster bass, missing the 2 left tuners. will send pics of your pup as soon as i get it finished. hint, it has a JP swedish flair to it.

  • HOLLOWBELLY

Hey man-that Lost Highway is waay cool. You should do more..

  • HOLLOWBELLY

  • Dave Lynas

I think I see a Norsk influence in the beautiful headstock. Some lip in the bridge too. I see faces in most of my boxes, two sound holes are a no brainer.

  • Toby

Hey JP, I was over at Jason Vivone's place a couple weeks ago and got to play around on the baseball bat diddly you made. I hope there's a KC fest this year and everyone can make it. I want to see some of your new stuff in person.

  • Tor Börve

Thank you for friendship! And thanks again for saving me from using the wrong wood! I listened to Lost Highway, hope you do understand that you´ve got an outstanding voice!

  • Dave Lynas

Wow, those nail pups look great. I've not seen anything like them. Looks great for a diddley bow. Are you going to market them? $?...

  • Dave Lynas

Hey Jeff, thanks for the call. I'm going to try a nail some day soon. I need to get some wire and The rest seems scroungeable. Our talk was most enjoyable and educational. Thanks, Dave

  • Letha Allen

  • Letha Allen

That's sure right JP. Happy 4th.

  • Letha Allen

Thank you JP, appreciate your help. I will record them better at some time later, but I just want to make a final decision which one to practice most.

    Have a good day

  • gary herget

Thanks for trying to help. In my shop I'm quite comfortable working there, but on this goofy computer I'm not so comfortable and will slowly, very slowly work through things. It takes time and hair pulling for me to learn these things. So please be patient  and try to understand when things don't appear quite right.

  • Mark Bridge

    Howdy Mr. Swenson,

Looks like you are still kicking out some neat axes. Check out the video I posted of another all wood banjo I just got my hands on.

Hope you have a happy new year!!

    Mark

  • Mark Bridge

Yep I'm still plugging away with the skype music lessons - I just picked up a couple more students out in California.  I'm working on more instructional videos but I need to work with the software a little more - I can't figure out how to get the split screen thing to work.

  • Mark Bridge

I'm making a few "free lesson" videos and putting them on YouTube which helps bring people into the website.  I'm heading over to Fargo on thursday with another music teacher to check on teaching at Schmitt Music - they don't have a banjo teacher there.  Have a happy New Year!!

  • Careless John

What will you call the videos JP ... I'll keep my eye out for them.

  • Dave Lynas

Hey JP, thanks for the kind comments. I've tried to reply to your messages, but they won't take. Don't know what's wrong with the system (or me). So i'm going right to your page to comment back. The inside out guit came out so nice, i'll be looking for more troubled old gals to try stuff like this. I like the clean look of many of the builders on CBN, but i love the crusty ones more. And they fit my abilities. ..... Dave
  • Michael Fred Johnson

Came to your page to reply to your comment and spotted your hand beaten reso. Did something similar with my "coppertop" and was thinking along similar lines for no.27

  • Goose Hollow Hillbillies

    Your probably right mate!

  • Dave Lynas

Hi JP. Thanks for the comments about too many listings in one Photo bomb of a million of the same old thing. I love to see all the inventive stuff folks are doing, not ten views of each part of the new guit box. Now i just troll through the photo listings till i see something interesting and then open that listing and make a comment. I think a smaller limit per day would be a help.
  • The Squid

hey man. too many picks fer def! plus i ramble thru and dont see anything new, unlike yours at the mo. inventive and different! nice job man. glad someones not in the same damned box as every one else!

  • mike anderson Blues Box Guitars

    nice!!!!

  • Dave Lynas

Ya those Rockets are pricey. I've been watching them go for from 500$ to 800 regularly. There are new Rockets out there too. Reissues. They go for $500. You'd need to be careful to be sure it's a relic. I just love their look. Not the 3 pickup version. One or two would be enough for me. I'll keep looking till the basket case Rocket appears.
  • Dave Lynas

Hey JP, just lost my comment back about the Rocket. Opps. Anyhoo, those Rockets are pricey. I've been looking close and they always go for $500 and up to $850. I'll keep looking for the basket case to fuss with. Got to be careful though. There is a reissue that looks just like the old ones. I want a relic. Tough to know for sure on ebay....
  • mike anderson Blues Box Guitars

    looks like you've been busy!

  • mike anderson Blues Box Guitars

    nice pics on here!

  • Dave Lynas

Hey JP, nice banjo. I'm a 4 stringer. I've got a nice Ida banjo (5 string) sitting next to me. I don't play it much. I've got it's resonator to fix. Guess i'm not interested in one, though yours looks very good. Thanks for going to the trouble of sending good photos. .... Dave
  • Dave Lynas

Thanks JP, you have a great day as well. I'll be fussing with a Speed Demon today. Making a bridge and setting the neck. The actions going down... Dave
  • Dave Lynas

Wow JP, that irrigation pipe guitar is beautiful. You did a fabulous job of slicking it out. Looks like a motor cycle tank or space item. What did you polish it with? I'm trying to find a good polish for old guitar finishes.
  • gary herget

Hey how ya doin', hope you all better now. Been a busy week cranked out 5 LP reso's

  • gary herget

Haven't seen you around hope all is weel and you are just busy or bored or something else like that. St. Louis Fest comin up if you're bored come on down. Be great to see ya.
