I have a few hanging in cigar stores. They like the wall art and when they sell, we both make a few bucks. If I didn't start selling them, I would have a house full of them and I would probably be minus one wife. I love to introduce people to the CBG for the first time. Great idea for a group.

Welcome and thanks for the good responses.  I enjoy building so much that my CBGs are starting to stack up like cordwood, so I decided to try to sell some, hence the reason for this group.

I really don't know where or how to put them out there.  I've signed up for a booth at a local craft festival towards the end of February.  The cost for the booth is $75, no electricity available, so I'll have to have some 9v amps to help show off.  I'll need to get a canopy ($75), a banner with my business name ($75), tables, a couple of chairs, and make some PVC display racks.  I opened a business account with my bank, and they want $15 a month (plus transaction fees) to process credit card sales.  I'm looking into less expensive options for that since I'm not expecting huge numbers of sales.  Other craft fairs I've looked into have booth fees ranging up to $350!!

So, so far I'm into about $300 just for the cost of setting up my first booth, and I'm sure there are other costs I haven't thought of.

Certainly, there are venues like E-bay, but even that has it's pitfalls.  I'm terrible at photography, and frankly, it doesn't look like many people buy CBGs that way (I could be wrong).  If most people are like me, it seems they would want to hold it and play it before buying.

I also am not looking to get rich, just support my habit, er, hobby.  But if anyone has some success stories, I think we'd all like to hear them.  Horror stories would be welcome too, so we can all commiserate with you as well.

So, how do you display your wares?  What go-along items do you offer?  What kind of signage works?  How do you target your audience?  What sort of costs have you incurred and was it worth it?

Let's help each other!

I just today had a mention in a local paper, we will see how that does.

Good group, I try to sell mine here, but that does not work. Like trying to sell milk to s farmer, lol. We all know how to make them.

Excellent group subject.

I'm not worried about making any real profit other than supporting my hobby. If I can build my personal ones for no money I'm happy, but I've sold most of mine through playing live and word of mouth.

I gave one to a local friend/musician over the summer and he's been great at spreading the word also.

Just started doing them on consignment at a local music shop too.

If you have a local town forum you can also post pictures/videos there. I just sold 2 kits by doing that.

I just donated one to a local animal rescue auction as well. Started getting feedback on that last night and have a few folks wanting more info.

Cool group you started, figure good one to belong too. Even though i don`t sale any of my builds, my add - on  custom creations have been making me good money for years. Maybe not a livin doin it but extra cash is always good. So if there`s anything that i can contribute, i`m here.
