Hi Bill,

I think you have done a great job with this, and you are a lot braver than I am.  I have only made one box guitar and I wasn't confident enough to fret it, but I have had to try and learn to play with a slide.  It is addictive, so next time I will give the fretting a go.  It looks like it has a happy face :-)  Great job

Not laughing, it looks great to me. You realise, though, that this will be the first of several, the production line only slowing down when you spend more time trying to play the thangs! Enjoy the journey and the crazy group that is CBN. (Or maybe that's just Jamie! ;-)

Hi, Guys,

Many thanks for the warm welcome.

I've attached a pic of my first effort. (Don't laugh!)

The box is an old wooden one a raffle prize came in, with a 1/8" ply top.

The neck is a piece of old drawing board made of sycamore.

The fretboard is cut from a piece of 1/4" mahogany inherited from my dad who used to make model boats.

The rest of the bits are either home made or bought on ebay.

It stays in tune fine, but it buzzes a bit on a couple of frets, but I think I can probably fix it with a bit of stoning.
