 Hi there Bill ,       

I have the same problem with my recent first build. The Amp is fine until the CBG is attached then I get a buzz. The louder the volume the louder the buzz. If I touch the metal volume control knob the problem disappears. So I recon its a grounding fault and probably due to my first ever effort at soldering. I will be buying some new bits and redoing the wiring and hopefully second time lucky. The CBG has a rod under saddle Piezo by the way not a magnetic pickup. so its not a string grounding issue in my case. ..Malc

I'll bet you're right.

I've just realised my whole collection of cables is 20 years old, & have had a hard life. (Haven't we all!).

I also wired up my own electrics.

I've just binned everything, & ordered new leads, & a pre-wired piezo/pot/jack socket.

I'll let you know how it works out.

I turn the amp on. Quiet as a mouse.

Plug in the lead. Still quiet.

Then plug in the guitar, & it sounds like a swarm of bees!

Sounds like it must be the guitar, but what can it be?
