Jamie, pebbles , you were lucky!! we had to dig for hours with our bare hands to find a pebble ; -)

EE, by gum Steve, ah remember walking to the seaside, about 30 miles, as we could not afford busfare (having shoes woulda helped btw!). We took some old newspapers with us, so we could "cover up" when sleeping on the benches. I remember collecting pebbles from the beach, as if we could not "down" a seagull or a pidgeon, we went hungry. All this in storms and force 10 gales as well. Ah, those were the days !  ;)

yes i remember many sunny days in South Devon in a caravan and one very rainy week one year, ..we graduated to holiday chalets after that, my poor Dad only got one week off a year... :-(

Nice song, it brings back good memories of Bridlington, Filey, Scarborough, Withansea and Whitley Bay (Spanish City), happy times, all we needed as a spade and beech (not allowed the coin operated TV).

These days the kids need guaranteed internet access, a mobile phone, charger, spare charger, laptop, tablet, games station, DVD player, theme parks.

Benllech Bay on Anglesey in my case!

Collapsing gas mantles, collapsing beds, & collapsing bucket & chuck it loos.

But then there was the sand, the rock pools, the ice creams & the picnics.

Much simpler times!

Bring 'em right back!!!
