Try your local model shop for hardwood suitable for fingerboards, most will stock 6mm walnut.Failing that check out SLEC on line

Supply of potential fret boards off the shelf? Has anyone in UK come across any suitable thin and flat material, eg flooring, which could be used to make fretboards

Hi all, just preparing for my first build and sourcing bits and pieces and finding/making tools. I'm in Exeter, anyone else in the area? First job is to make a fret slot cutting jig for which I've picked up and modified a few ideas off the web. I'm looking to add a laser cut indexing template to an off the shelf mitre box (Machine Mart's wooden job). I dug out an Aldi impulse buy mitre box lo see if it would do and it is really rubbish. Don't bother.

hi all!

just joined the group, got my first box and tuners in the post - first build is my dads christmas prezzy, as his fingers dont bend enough to play a guitar, I thought "why not a slide guitar instead?" - and after a little research I'll be building myself one after!
