I just want to (belatedly) add my thanks to John for making such a brilliant day happen - and for generally being a great bloke. It doesn't matter that the schedule underwent a bit of "dynamic reallocation" because it all turned out to be good stuff. I certainly learnt a huge amount and I'm buzzing with ideas for new projects. Maybe next year I'll have worked up the confidence to try playing my guitars in front of other people.

Thanks to Chickenbone John and everyone involved in organising BoxStock 2010. A great day!

As a non-CBG builder this was the first time I've actually had my hands on a CBG! I went a bit reckless and bought two: a 3-stringer from CJ (which he is kindly adding some finishing touches to before I take delivery) and a dual-purpose 3-or-4 stringer from Roosterman.

I've been playing the latter at home today. The pickup is awesome! And I've managed to teach myself more songs in a day than I usually can in 6 months - been dabbling in everything from Norwegian Wood to Mike Snowden's Georgia Mountain Train to AC/DC!

I'm even considering actually making something now (!!!) - thanks to Lost Tone for the idea of starting out with a diddleybow! Even a totally inept DIY-er like me stands a chance with one of those - and I've got a design in mind which would be something - er - a bit different! So here's hoping....

Great to meet a lot of the faces I've only seen on the Nation website!

Yes..I screwed up on a couple of things...didn't get my troubleshooting workshop done, nor the diddleybow workshop..and the electrics/pickups thing...total bloody disaster really wasn't it? Still..nobody asked for their money back...and don't try asking either.

I'm sure with the technology in that place they could have probably given me a bionic memory chip implant with the real -time running order continuously updated by BlueTooth..but a clipboard on a piece of string is more CBG Nation really.

I've said it before and I'll say it again-Chickenbone John is the Godfather of the Uk cbg scene.Top bloke.I kipped on the floor of his 1960's spit level bohemian pad after the fest-I was touched he'd made a bed up for me all nice fresh sheets and everythin (as if he didnt have enough to do). For those that might not believe my description of his 1960's gaff-heres a pic to prove it-taken this morning...groovy baby yeah!
