thanks a lot guys
If both pots are the same you could always add in a capacitor on one of the pots and use that as a tone stack.
Gary, there is some writing stamped or engraved on the pot. Usually volume is a log type and tone lin. It will say something like A250k or which is a 250k ohm log (the A) bit means log) or B250k (B means linera). It may be 500k rather than 250k - that doesn't matter much. Log pots are usually used for vol because we don't hear loudness in a linear fashion so a logarithmic pot gives a more even reduction of volume across the range. Not important but desirable. They do need to be 250k or 500k though as a rule. Hope this helps
I am a complete dunce when it comes to electrics or should that be electronics,
I have volume and tone pots which I have removed the knobs from are they identical does it matter which one I use for volume or tone
Hi Gary - I used EAD to give me DAD tuning to match my CBG for what it's worth. Cheers B
If one was building a three string Bass would there be any musical preference to using the top three strings or the bottom three. I am building it out of a wine box and the neck is a pick axe handle (hickory) will it be ok without a truss rod
Thanks Mr Rooster sir. I'll see you there, guitar in hand.
